A Green Weekend

Are you getting sick of photo blogs? Wow, I used to use actual words. I guess pictures are the new words. One of these days I'll start getting wordy again. Until then....

Sunday after church I went to Mt. Auburn Cemetery for the first time with Trisha and Kirsti. The weather was gorgeous (much cooler and less humid) and we hiked to the top of the tower and had a fantastic 360-view of the City.

Mt. Auburn is the largest cemetery in Mass. and is only half a mile from my house. It's huge and old and beautiful. We had a marvelous time walking around discussing life and death. A most appropriate after-church activity.
And because I never get tired of open-mouthing for the camera...

But really, one of these days I'll learn to smile normally again. Maybe the same day I start using words again... who knows?

(Special shout-out to Rachel who did my color again last week. If my hair never faded from this color, I'd be tempted to keep red forever!)
After I escaped from work on Saturday, I finally got to visit the beach for lovely Linda's birthday bash. Why is it already August and I haven't been to the beach yet? Massachusetts IS a coastal state after all...

The sand was awesome, the water wasn't too cold, and we had a really fun time squealing as each wave hit.

Peggy let me take a picture of my shadow. Being as obsessed with giantism as I am; this is a perfect shot.

Instead of building sandcastles, we did sand carving. This lovely piece is a topographical map of the United States. Actually, the topographical portion got mostly flattened, but it's a weird idea either way. The little mound on the left is a tooth. As disclaimed previously: I don't get me either.

How could I not open mouth smile at the beach?

Did I make the most of a weekend that I had to work? Are you disappointed my title is a shout-out to what I was wearing and not Global Warming? Should I get over the open-mouth smile? Would you like to join me at the beach and try to carve out an entire world map?

I'd love to go to the beach with you again!! This time I'll bring a bucket, some little child-like gardening equipment...anything that will help with maps, animals, sand castles, whatever!! I could do it for hours!!
